I heard recently that cancer is the leading cause of death in children up to 15 years old! The field of Cellular Biology claims that less than 2% of ALL disease is genetic. This means that 98% of ALL disease is preventable through life style and health design. - Dr Bruce Lipton, The Wisdom of your Cells.
Nourishing nutritious foods nurture your children to optimal health, freeing them from debilitating illness and disease.
Hippocrates stated 'Let food be thy medicine'. Food IS our medicine, but what is happening to our food??
In the article Back to Basics I talked about additives and perservatives in our foods, but what about the other hidden nasties that we cannot see or read about on a label? There are no labels on lettuces, but they have been sprayed with a chemical cocktail on numerous occasions before reaching your supermarket or vege store.
What about GMO's, where scientists are injecting seeds with pesticides? Then theres the freshly caught fish at your local seafood supplier? Do you know the effects of bio-magnification? Where even tiny amounts of pesticides or chemicals can accumulate up the food chain, and given that we are at the top, that means a toxic build up for us.
Do we look for blame or do we find solutions?
I believe the solution is a choice.
Either you can continue to buy conventionly grown food and suffer the accumulative effects of continued chemical ingestion. Or you can make the effort grow your own produce, safe in the knowledge that your garden is free of artifical fertilizers and pesticides.
But if neither of these choices suffice, then what about organics?? Certified organic produce are grown without the use of pesticides and chemicals. The soil in which they are grown will be nutrient rich and full of minerals which will nourish the produce and enrich our bodies upon consuming them.
We all deserve nurturing nourishing nutrition, which to me is fresh, locally grown, certified organic wholefoods.
